    ProQuest platform maintenance window will be on September 26, 2009 at 22:00 Eastern Standard Time to Sunday, September 27, 2009 at 10:00 Eastern Standard Time for infrastructure maintenance and to install an exciting new enhancement:

Historical The New York Times (1851-2005) with Index (1851-1993): A subject term browsing feature has been added to this database. With the addition of a topic browse tab, users can access more than 3 million historical subject terms-just as they appeared in the print version of The New York Times Index from 1851-1993. 
    The following products will be unavailable during these windows:
• ProQuest platform products, ProQuest Historical Newspapers (traditional and graphical K12 interface), American Periodicals Series, ProQuest Obituaries
• Chadwyck-Healey products only in North America
• CSA Illumina products such as CSA Technology Research Database, Illustrata: Natural Sciences, and CSA Sociological Abstracts
• K-12 products

We have purchased two collections of JSTOR recently.  

Arts & Sciences I: 
    Total 119 titles in twenty-one disciplines that includes core journals in economics, history, political science, and sociology, as well as in other key fields in the humanities and social sciences. This collection also contains titles in ecology, mathematics, and statistics.

Arts & Sciences V: 
    Collection will have at least 120 titles by the end of 2009. This collection contains literary reviews and state historical journals. It covers disciplines in the arts and humanities, such as philosophy, history, classics, religion, art and art history, and language and literature.

SIRS Knowledge Source - This one hour class covers the content, features and tips for using the SIRS databases. Learn how students, teachers and librarians can search the premier collection of full-text periodicals covering all aspects of general reference including arts, business, humanities, health, social sciences and current affairs. A special focus on Leading Issues will be explained. 
 

SIRS Issues Researcher - Learn how to best leverage the high quality and subject-relevant information in this one hour class covering the SIRS Researcher and SIRS Leading Issues database. Included will be subject heading and keyword searches, advanced search, Browse Topics and the Leading Issues feature of SIRS Researcher. Using the various document formats within the database such as maps, pictures and reference book resources will also be covered.

SIRS Discoverer - Explore the many search options available in this one hour class covering SIRS Discoverer. Included will be subject heading and keyword searches, subject tree searches and a discussion of featured content. Using the various document formats within the database such as maps, pictures and reference book resources will also be covered. 
 

Ethnic News Watch - The session is scheduled for 75 minutes to cover: Content review Browse and search functions View and output options Saved searches and publication alerts – email and RSS My Research Questions. Access titles from the ethnic, minority and native presses including bilingual content (English and Spanish) with a quarter of the content in Spanish.
