MATCH is a collaboration between the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. This web site provides access to the 50 state reports, ranking each county within the 50 states according to its health outcomes and the multiple health factors that determine a county’s health. Each county receives a summary rank for its health outcomes and health factors and also for the four different types of health factors: health behaviors, clinical care, social and economic factors, and the physical environment. Each county can also drill down to see specific county-level data (as well as state benchmarks) for the measures upon which the rankings are based." -- From WorldCat Lost opportunity : a 50 State Report on the opportunity to learn in America "From the site: In 2008, Given Half a Chance: The Schott 50 State Report on Public Education and Black Males, revealed that nationally, only 47 percent of America’s Black males were graduating from high school. As the Schott Foundation moved beyond the surface level outcome data, we discovered even larger resource disparities which, in many respects, explained the large outcome disparities. These inequities extended far beyond just dollars; the students were also less likely to have access to highly effective teachers, early childhood education, and college preparatory curriculum. In the states where Black males were more likely to have access to those critical resources, they performed better. Likewise, in the places where White males were denied access to these same key resources, like in Detroit and Indianapolis, their outcomes also suffered severely. Simply put, what we witness today in the achievement gap is the silhouette of a larger opportunity gap that is identifiable both by race and socio-economic status. The achievement gap is merely one of many symptoms of a larger systemic illness. To move beyond what Lani Guinier brands as the "miner’s canary" approach, we decided to go deeper and investigate at what level the states in the U.S. were providing every child a fair and substantive opportunity to learn. Lost Opportunity: A 50 State Report on the Opportunity to Learn in America is that deeper look."-- From WorldCat Oyez U.S. Supreme Court media "A multimedia database about the United States Supreme Court. In addition to abstracts of key constitutional cases, we provide digital audio (RealAudio) of the Oral Arguments in many important cases, as well as several recordings of the announcement of the Court’s opinion. We also link to the written opinions of the court in all cases since 1893, provided by the FindLaw project. In addition to the case resources, we have brief biographies and portraits of all 108 justices who have served on the Supreme Court. We have recently added digital audio recordings of speeches made by several justices, and will continue to look for more resources which help bring the Court to life." -- From WorldCat Great Lakes Information Network (GLIN) "GLIN is a partnership that provides one place online for people to find information relating to the binational Great Lakes region of North America. Thanks to its strong network of state, provincial, federal and regional partner agencies and organizations, it has become a necessary component of informed decisionmaking, and a trusted and reliable source of information. Respected across the Great Lakes region and around the world, GLIN offers a wealth of data and information about the region’s environment and economy, tourism, education and more." -- From WorldCat North American transportation statistics database "Statistics On-Line Database presents information on transportation and transportation-related activities among Canada, the United States and Mexico, both within individual countries and between the countries. This database, presented in French, English, and Spanish is, accessible in table and time series formats, and covers twelve thematic areas, including transportation and the economy, transportation safety, transportation₂s impact on energy and the environment, passenger and freight activity, and transportation and trade"--From WorlCat.
